Are you sure of the spelling? I would have expected Iacobescu, "son of Jacob", but maybe Iocab is the Romanian form of Jacob (anybody own a Romanian Bible?)
So it's yo-kabbess-koo, or yah-kubess-koo, depending on the spelling. In either case the stress is on the -ESC- syllable.

I hang my head in shame! Iocabescu is the correct spelling. How could I have doubted it? Not the first time I've made a fool of myself on this message board.
