Frozen chicken. Friesen=frozen. Hahn=chicken

Good one :-) Friesenhahn is actually a variant of Friesenhagen, a placename in Rheinland-Pfalz. You can see how close the surnames are geographically at http://www.verwandt.de/karten/.

Friesen were an ancient tribe in N. Europe (the Frisians). Hahn means rooster (cock), and so, a proud man. (rather the opposite of chicken)
