Ultimately, they're all from the Latin, 'dominus' meaning 'lord' or 'master' which is related to 'dominate'...hence, Sunday is the "Lord's Day".

BTW, both Mexico and the Philipines were both Spanish colonies ...

One more thing ...I believe the -ez in Spanish names was brought into Spain by the Visigoths (One of the Germanic tribes overrunning the last of the Roman Empire in the 4th and 5th Centures) ...it means "son of" ...however the use the letter 'z' in Spanish may be an Arab remnant of the Moors.
