any information of these surnames
I love this site but I got no info on the surnames of munzlinger or rabon. I'm sure munzlinger is german(at least I thought), but I would like to know more about it. As well as my surname rabon have no idea what ethic background is. Could not find either one. Can someone help me please?

Munzlinger and Rabon
Munzlinger sounds German indeed. It would originally refer to someone coming from Munzligen - but this place-name obviously doesn't exist (any more). It was probably located in the south of Germany or maybe in Switzerland. "Münze" means "coin", so there may once have been a mint at Munzlingen. On the other hand the name could be from "munt" (protection), but this is just wild guessing.
For Rabon see:
