We have records of my family being descended from a man by the last name of Baillie. Supposedly there's no longer any memebers of this clan in existance(Well, it's a sept of Clan Chattan), but we're descended legitimately from him and have records of it. Does anyone what the heck that means?

Also, does anyone know the meaning of it? It's a Scottish last name from the Highlands.
