King Macha 533-519 BC
I am trying to find the origins of the Mackey name. The name dates prior to the 1066 Norman conquest and was known before that in the Sutherland area. The name means "God Of Fire" Usually only the Kings could use this "fire" name. Also the family crest has a Stag, usually hunting of Stag' is for the kings. Does anyone know if Mackey and Macha are related? Or if there are any Kingly lineage to the Mackey name?
