Does anyone know anything about this name? My grandmother's name is Vanselous, and since Van is Dutch and Slous is the original spelling of Selous (thanks again Jim Young!), I thought I should try to find out where Slous comes from. Could it be from Sluis in the Netherlands?

Van Sluis is a common Dutch surname as you can see at http://tinyurl.com/29gsx8c. It means 'from Sluis', the name of eight places in Holland and Belgium, and it's almost certainly the origin of Vanselous.
