Can someone please help me find the origin and meaning of the surname Hutchinson? I have no idea what the ethnic background is [Sorry]. I've looked, but I can't find anything, and I need it for a project I've been working on..

I believe it is one of many derived from the first name "Hugh" which comes from Old German meaning "mind, intellect" ...but could be English for "son of the hutch dweller" ...
