irish/scottish
My fathers family scottish/irish (from Attrim, Ireland area)but I cant find them before coming to US. Any help is greatly appreciated

I queried whether Crunkleton is a Scots-Irish surname. I've found no evidence of that origin; no evidence of the name ever having existed in Ireland, or in Scotland for that matter.
Several websites - probably a case of one echoing another - state that the surname comes from a place-name, Cronkleton, in Northumberland (England). But I haven't been able to find such a place. The Ordnance Survey website, doesn't recognise it, though it claims to have 250,000 British place-names on record. Nor have I found the name recorded anywhere else.
