What means the surname Donaldovich?
I have a census record of surname Donaldovich. See https://www.ancestry.com/1940-census/usa/New-York/Renneth-Donaldovich_j6s75
I thought this is a Russian/Belarusian surname. But the name Donald is not common in Russia and Belarus.

Perhaps the census record is supposed to be for Kenneth Domaldovich? https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/158929686/kenneth-domaldovichThere's a submitted entry for the name Domald that suggests it's Dalmatian, possibly Dalmatian Slavic or Dalmatian Italian origin. https://www.behindthename.com/name/domald/submitted

That's a very interesting surname. -ovich is definitely eastern european, but "donald" is exclusively english. Since -ovich commonly means "son of-" I imagine a guy named Donald invented the surname to use for his children. I'm guessing he married into a eastern european family, and his children took his first name as a surname, as custom. That's a really cool cultural crossover.
