Chornobay (uk: Чорнобай)
What does Chornobay mean? I was trying to see where village Chornobayivka gets name from, it did not have information, so I look at village Chornobay and it said it probably is from surname. It said maybe Turkic origin.

While I couldn't find anything for the exact spelling of Chornobay, I did find something online about 'Chornobai' on MyHeritage. Pasted description: "believed to derive from the Ukrainian word chornyi, meaning black, combined with bai, which can refer to a landowner or a wealthy individual."

I looked into it and бай (bay) is specifically wealthy landowner from Central Asia. In Slavic surnames "black" usually refers to hair So I'll assume Chornobay was landowner from Central Asia with dark hair
