I am trying to find information on my Maternal grandfathers surname, PERATA.
He was from Northern Italy, near Varrezze in the mountains. We don't think his family originated from Italy. He had blue eyes, blonde hair and fair skin.
If anyone has any information on this surname, I would be grateful!

I find this listing of eye, hair and skin colouring rather disturbing. Is it a new development in surname studies? Are we moving towards separate message boards for different skin tones?
