Baldridge-
English: from a Middle English personal name, Baldrik (see Baldree). In the British Isles, the name now occurs chiefly in northeastern England.
Possibly an altered spelling of the cognate German name Baldrich.
Baldree or Baldry- English: from a Germanic personal name composed of the elements bald ‘bold’, ‘brave’ + ric ‘power’. This may have been present in Old English in a form Bealdric, but it was reintroduced by the Normans as Baldri, Baudri, and it is from these forms that the surname is derived.
