Soudriette is a French name. It was Sordelier when the first person to bear that name came to Canada in the 1700s. The name was changed as many French names were. There are only a few people named Soudriette left in the USA today. There were some in Ohio,(Toledo), Indiana(Vincennes) and in Michigan. My name, Lixey, should be Soudriette, but an ancestor Alexey(Alexander) Soudriette, had people call him Mister Alexey. That gradually became Lixey. Most of the Lixeys in the USA are descendents of Alexey. Sordelier seems to have died out in France too. David Lixey
