I'm trying to figure out the meaning of the Goeking surname, hopefully someone here will be able to help.
I know it's a German surname, alternate spellings are Göcking, Göking, Goeking, Goecking or Gocking. I haven't been able to find anything on it's meaning, if it refers to a place or a profession etc...
One thing I have found is an illustration from the late 1700s of Hessian mercenaries referring to Von Göcking (so maybe a place?). But that is all I have been able to find on the subject.
Anyone have any ideas??
