Mauricio Álvarez de las Asturias Bohorques y Ponce de León, 4th Duke of Gor (1864–1930) was a Spanish Duke and fencer. He competed in the individual sabre, foil and Épée events at the 1900 Summer Olympics in Paris. He was the 4th Duke of Gor, a peerage Grandee title in Spain.

Brian Daniel Pintado Álvarez (born in 1995) is a race walker from Ecuador. He competed in the Men's 20 km walk at the 2016 Summer Olympics, finishing in 37th place with a time of 1:23:44.

Santos Saúl Álvarez Barragán, better known as "Canelo" Álvarez, is a Mexican professional boxer who has won multiple world championships in four weight classes, including light middleweight, middleweight, super middleweight, and light heavyweight, becoming the fourth Mexican boxer to become a world champion in four weight classes. He is currently a unified super middleweight world champion, having held the WBA (Super), WBC, and Ring magazine titles since 2020.
