[Surname] Flamenco
My mother-in-law's maiden name was Flamenco. She is from Argentina and is Latin. She claims that her ancestors are originally from Luxumbourg and that they migrated to Spain, then several generations later, to Argentina. She said that Flamenco means "Flemmish" in Spanish - which I have confirmed is true. However, I also see that Flamenco is associated with gypsies in the Andulusia region of Spain and there is a dance called The Flamenco that originated somewhere in Spain. Does anyone have any other information on the origin of or history of Flamenco?
