Grecian Surname "Chalikis"
I have two questions concerning this surname:1. What does the suffix '-kis' stand for? Is there a regional association?
2. I have found multiple possibilities for the meaning of this surname. Are any of these feasible?
Chali: Greek, Carpet
Chali/çali: Turkish, Thorn
Chaliki: Greek, Pebble
Chalik/çalýk: Turkish, Crooked, or Scarred Face (Provincial Dialect). All assistance is absolutely appreciated!
