This is what I know:
It is a word in Czech and means Ram, Aries, or wether (a castrated male sheep). Czech and Slovak are close but the word is not used in the Slovak dictionaries I've searched.
My efforts to find a Slovene definition have been frustrating. It's clearly something because look at this: http://bos.zrc-sazu.si/cgi/a03.exe?name=sskj_testa&expression=ge%3Dskopec&hs=1
. However when I do a search for something in this page I get to sklopec, which is an iron hunting trap.
I saw the name Skopec with the hacek/makcen (the v above the s making the S soft) so it's shko-pets in Slovene pages. You're sure it's not soft?
~This deep breath isn't doing much to quell my anxiety and anticipation of writing 1667 words/day for 30 days. Thanks NaNoWriMo!http://klundtacularwrites.blogspot.comhttp://projectwritingroom.blogspot.com/
