Leonard Baskin (1922–2000) was an American figurative graphic artist, sculptor, draughtsman, calligrapher, and master printmaker who founded the Gehenna Press one of America's first fine arts presses known for its inventive use of engravings and typography. Primary themes that informed his work include mortality, grief, suffering and resistance to oppression.
