"Battaglia"'s Italian Pronunciation:

Baht-Tah-Lyah

"A" as in "Father." Keep in mind the importance of pronouncing the double letters ("TT"), which you will find is most easily accomplished when extra emphasis is placed on the letter before ("A") and slowly strolling, lingering through. "A," once again, as in "Father." "G" is silent. The final half ("Lia") equals "Lee-Ah" (with the "I" being stressed to "EE"), but when spoken it typically morphs to "Lyah." [noted -ed]
