From the name of the historic state of 趙, in Shanxi province in China. It was named after Zao Fu, the chariot driver of Mu Wang, king of the Zhou dynasty. According to legend, Zao Fu was able to speed Mu Wang back in time to defend the capital and was granted the city of Zhao as a reward.
