[Facts] Name translations - English to Italian
I'm looking for a site that will help me translate names from English to Italian in preparation for a Godfather-themed dinner party I'm holding Saturday. I can't get the process to work on this site. Any other suggestions on where to find something like this? Thanks

I think there's no translation for "real" italian names. How do you translate Enzo, Italo, Ennio, Gigliola, Orieta, Ornella, Fiordaliso, etc.?
Instead, you can translate Giovanni (john), Paolo (Paul), Graziella (Grace), Isabella (Elizabeth), etc. because these are latin or greek names.
Can you imagine an english person trying to translate to italian names like Heather, Kimberley, Denzel or Barry?

The Italian form of the name is ROBERTO.If you want to translate the original meaning of the name into Italian, it would be something like: "gloria" + "celebre"Andy ;—)

This is BtN's translation tool:http://www.behindthename.com/translate.htmlThis only covers names which have a direct translation into Italian - usually Biblical names (Anne, Matthew) or Latin- or Greek-based names (Felicity, Katherine). For names that don't have a direct Italian equivalent you can use the Italian names database (http://www.behindthename.com/nmc/ita.html) to look up a name which looks or sounds roughly the same.If any of your friends have word names (such as Crystal, Amber, Brook etc) you can use www.altavista.com/babelfish/ to translate their names into Italian - just make sure you change the ending to be correct for the person (o is masculine, a is feminine). If you put the names here, I'd be happy to translate them for you and give you a guide to pronunciation as well (I did Italian at university).:-)

Well some names wont translate from English to Italian if their isnt an equivalant name. So it probably wont matter what site you go to.However post your names here and someone might be able to help.
