Help[Opinions] Merritt
I posted before about the name Merel. In the culture where I was when I first heard the name (in Africa), it was difficult to distinguish the last sound, so sometimes the name sounded like Meret.
That got me to thinking about the name Meret and I really like this name for a girl. I think it has a pretty sound, but do you instantly think of the word 'merit' when you hear it? This has positive connotations but I think it could bring alot of teasing too.
I am not sure what spelling I would use... BtN lists Merritt and Merit. I like Meret too- what do you think of these?
Can someone tell me about the names Maret and Marit? BtN says that they are from Margaret. Are they pronounced like the english word merit? Thanks for your help!
