[Opinions] Lydia?
What are your honest opinions on this name? Lydia (spelt Lidia though) was one of my favourite names growing up, then I just kind of forgot about it, but on Sunday I heard someone mention Lydia, and now I'm really liking it again.
Also, Just quickly. Do you prefer:
Leah or Lydia?
Lydia or Julia?
Thank you :)
It's a GIRL! Our Princess is due July 27, 2005!

If you're going with the Lidia spelling, you may like Lidian, nn Lidia. Otherwise, I'd personally go with the 'y' spelling. I prefer Lydia to Leah and Julia. Lydia is actually one of my top 4 girls' names!

Lydia is lovely
I would definitely choose Lydia before Leah and Julia, just b/c Lydia is more uncommon.
Lydia Bennett is not the only literary character. I liked Lyddie by Katherine Paterson.
1) Lydia
2) Leah
3) Julia
But all three are beautiful names. Lidia is a Slavic spelling, I would only use this if I had roots from Russia etc.

I like Lydia more than Leah or Julia because it isn't nearly as popular and has a spunky old fashioned feel to it. I only like it spelt with the 'y', for some reason the 'i' makes it look short or choppy to me. Leah would be my second choice as I don't care much for Julia.

I like LIDIA.

I'm sorry, but I can't stand the name! It makes me think of the Jane Austen character, and also I don't think it has the nicest sound. Spelling it Lidia would just make it worse for me - the word lid stands out then. I definately prefer Leah and Julia over Lydia. Leah would be my favourite out of those names.
Lydia was one of my absolute favourites when I was a teenager, and I've recently started really liking it again. It's about 4th in my girls' list at the moment.
I prefer Lydia to Leah, but I think I prefer Julia to Lydia (Julia isn't on my list because it's my stepcousin's name - I have too many cousins!).

Lydia makes me think of Lydia Bennet, so I'd never use it--she was an awful thing! However, I think the name has a nice sound, and I like the nickname Lyddie a LOT.
I like Lydia more than Leah (though I'd like Lia better than either), and I like Julia slightly more than Lydia--simply because Julia's a song and Lydia's a scandalous Jane Austen character, heh. I think Julia and Lydia would be really nice as siblings.

I think Lydia is a lovely name. I always said that if I had to change my name, it'd be to either Lydia or Miranda. I only like the spelling Lydia, as Lidia looks very awkward to me.
I choose Lydia for the first one, but I like Julia and Lydia equal, so I can't choose one.
