I don't think many people in the US would think it as a nn. And I also know 2 women called Siri, so even though I know it's short for Sigrid it also is a name on it's own right to me (am I making any sense?)
I really like it!

I think it's perfectly fine. ^_^ I don't care much for short names, but people do it all the time. If you like it, do it.

No. Siri, while a nice name, would not age well at all. Nicknames as first names REALLLY bug me. The child will get asked 'oh, what's that short for' over and over, and has no formal name to use later in life. Most nicknames also seem very childish to me.

Elizabeth Michelle sounds much more mature and competent.

I think it depends on where you live. If you live in the US, I don't think most people will even realize that Siri is a nickname, as I don't think many Americans are familiar with Siri or Sigrid. I think in the online naming community, people are more familiar with some of these names that the general public aren't aware of.

If anything, I think you should worry that people may think Siri is "made up," not that it won't stand up as a formal name.

I also think it's lovely.

I don't care for nicknames as formal names (there are some exceptions, like Benji, for example). I've had trouble over the years with my name and people assuming it's a nickname. Maybe if my name wasn't Lissa, I'd say it wouldn't age well, but I'm biased - LOL. But, for the most part, I don't think nicknames age well.

It is okay, its a popular thing to do nowadays too. I know a lot of people that are just Mike, Joe, Andy, Drew or another nn.

Personally though, I dont like it. I like the classic names, and not a huge fan of nn as full names, or of most nn in general.
