I currently love the name Helena. I have for a little while now. I noticed that many people have their personal preference of how to pronounce it. I was wondering which way you think this name sounds best pronounced? Im trying to decide which pronunciation I find the most beautiful sounding because I actually like all three pronunciations. I am kind of leaning towards the he-LEE-na pronunciation. I just wanted your opinions.

There is a river about 5 minutes' drive from where I live called the Helena River. It was named after a Helen, but it is only ever pronounced he-LEE-na. Because of the river (plus two suburbs and three schools that include the river's name in their name), that's the pronunciation I prefer.

HEL-en-ah is okay, but I don't like he-LAY-na

HEL-en-ah is my favorite, but I think all 3 are pretty. This is just one of those names where using it means accepting the fact that you will need to clarify the pronunciation.

My favorite is definitely HEL-eh-nah, which is gorgeous. heh-LAY-nah is fine, but I really dislike heh-LEE-nah.

Strange, because I adore Elena said eh-LEH-nah (though I do like EL-eh-nah a lot as well) and I also really like Elina (eh-LEE-nah).

I like all 3 pronunciations, but I like heh-LAY-nah the best, then Helen-ah. But heh-LEE-nah certainly isn't bad at all. ;)

I've heard the HEL-en-ah pronunciation the most, but I think he-LAY-na is prettier :)

I say heh-LEY-nah. I hate HEL-in-ah, which is what won in my poll.

I generally say he-LEE_na or HEL-en-a, but I prefer he-LAY-na.
