Help[Opinions] Kate?
I had a multi-paragraph rant on my feelings on this name, but there's really no reason for that. To sum: this isn't a name I'm considering using, but a name I'm considering liking. Katie and Maddie are generally considered the ultimate yucky trendy cutesy names, and I concur. But I met a Kate who bore her name quite well this summer (she was an adult, too), and am now in Taming of the Shrew, which includes a strong and dynamic Kate. Also, my unfortunatly-named cousin Kaitlyn is causing me to love the alternative of Kate (and I refuse to call her anything else...which works out well as she prefers Kate too). But I'm just not sure how I feel about the name.
What do you think of Kate?
(ETA: I thought I'd mentioned I only like Kate as a nickname and preferably for Kathertine, but I realised I didn't. Oops. I agree with those of you who responded that it should be a nickname.)
