I love the nn Beth-I've always thought it was so sweet. My middle name is Elizabeth and it's a big name in my family-I have two cousins nn Liz. But I would love to hear of a little girl named Beth and Bethy/Bethie is so cute also. I also like the name Bethany and was on a big kick of loving it for awhile but now I'm back to preferring Elizabeth w/ nn Beth.

I really like Elizabeth, and Lily or Beth as a nn for it.

I adore Elizabeth nn Beth, I think it's one of the sweetest and most elegant names going. I can't use it because my cousin is named Beth, which frustrates me no end.

Anna Beth would be better than Annie Beth, which doesn't sound right to me. But in principle it's ok.

I was almost given this name. My parents considered naming me Elizabeth and calling me Beth. Ultimately they decided against it. I have mixed feelings about it because I love Elizabeth but don't care for Beth. In fact, I dislike all the nicknames for Elizabeth except Eliza. I guess if they had named me Elizabeth I could have tried to change my nickname. But I think sometimes it's hard to make that stick.
Ultimately though, I think it's a nice idea to honor your late aunt, so that's what you should do.

I think Beth is very pretty. It's not common at all here in Australia. I don't find it out dated at all. I also like Bethy. Annie Beth would be very cute for a girl named Anna Elizabeth, I like it.

Well, it would work. I don't particularly like Beth just because I think it's boring, but it's not unpleasant.

A thought, though: I know a girl named Elizabeth who is one in a long line of Elizabeths. She goes by Libby and her mother is Betsy, and I assume on up from there. I really like this idea, a lot. I think Elizabeth "Eliza" can honor Beth quite sufficiently.

I love the name Elizabeth (though I prefer it spelled Elisabeth), and I think the NN Beth is sweet...so much nicer than Eliza and Lizzie imo (neither of which I like at all). I don't think it's too dated.

Anna Elizabeth is a nice combo, and Annie Beth isn't too bad, though I'd prefer Anna Beth. Overall, though, I prefer Elizabeth as a first name, and Anna isn't a favorite of mine.

I love Beth as a nickname for Elizabeth. I also love Annie, but Annie Beth...wow, too much. (I have a box of maple candies sitting beside me that I'm trying not to scarf down in one sitting...same feeling.) I prefer Beth to Lizzie by a long shot, and am not positive whether I like Beth or Eliza better. I like Bess even better, but that's irrelevant.

I love Beth as a nn for Elizabeth especially. It might be dated (I don't think it is, though Bess is dated), but I think that it is absolutel gorgeous without the Lizard jokes that surround Lizzie or the little rhyme about Eliza Jane that gets provoked by Eliza.

I like the combo Anna Elizabeth and the nn Annie is cute for it, as is the nn Beth, but please don't combine them. I went by Annie Kate for a while and it was just terrible. I think Annie Beth would be about the same.

Personally, I do think it is dated. It brings up images of the late 70's and the 80's. I don't like Bethany either. If it has significance to you though, I don't think it really matters. I prefer Elizabeth, Elspeth, Elise, Elsie, Elsa, etc. better.

I really like Beth and don't find it dated at all. Although I adore Annie, Annie Beth doesn't really do it for me. I'd much prefer Anna Beth or Annabeth.

I love Beth. It's my sister's name, so I have good assosiations with it. Elizabeth is lovely, as well. I think Bethy would be cute when she's a baby, too. I like Annie Beth, but then again, I'm a Southern girl, so double names seem normal to me.

I don't think Beth is outdated at all. Not like Betty or Bessie. Lizzie is cute but maybe doesn't age so well. Eliza is very trendy right now.

Annie Beth is indeed nauseatingly cutesy. It's kind of like Katie Jo or Mary Lou. :)

I like Beth (it's my mum's name, plus Beth from Little Women, => good associations); I like it best as a nn for Bethany. I don't think it's too old-fashioned, I can imagine it on anyone from a little girl to someone my mum's age. Bethy is also cute; and I like Anna Beth just slightly more than Annie Beth, it's a little stronger.

I don't think Beth is too dated at all! I love it and prefer it over other Elizabeth-nicknames such as Betty, Lizzie and Betsy (though, I do like Betsy). Bethy would be a sweet pet name to use informally, but not something I'd put on a birth certificate.

Anna Elizabeth called Annie Beth is adorable. It's cute, but not cutesy, and she could always request to stop being called that if, when she gets older, doesn't like it.

i dont like Beth on its own but i like it as a nn for Elizabeth (which is a great name btw). I think Beth is nicer than Eliza or Lizzie. i dont think Beth is dated at all. I like the name Annabeth so i think calling your child Annie Beth or Anna Beth is fine. :)

I don't think Beth is too dated as a nickname, but I really dislike it. The family reasons are nice, though.
