[Opinions] Your Kind Assistance Requested -- Russian Surnames
Good morning, I am a short story author, looking for assistance concerning Russian surnames. I have a character who is of Russian decent, therefore I would like a real last name to add to the authenticity of one of my stories.I am looking for something that starts with a "V", but any suggestions will do. The character isn't a primary character and therefore does not need a name with "meaning", just a name that is not "made-up". Yes, of course, I am currently scouring the Internet for names, and I will continue to do so, however, if a kind soul would be willing, please post an answer here or to my email address MOPED_RONIN AT HOTAMIL DOT COM, I would be most appreciative.Warmest regards,

Vershinin is another, from Anton Chekov's play. Just remember to add the 'a' if your character's female.

See here for a whole bunch of surnames: http://snipurl.com/ht19.The rest of the site is well worth browsing, btw, though it doesn't appear to be updated anymore.
