Oh, both
Ann and
Anne are lovely names, as long as they aren't used as middle names. I like
Anne also pronounced my "native" way - AHN-ne.
I think I could never be bored of Anne-names - they just don't loose their taste, no matter how much they're used.
I think many people (together with
Anne of the Green gables) will say
Anne looks more complete - I agree, but it doesn't mean I dislike
Ann.
Ann looks more... honest, I suppose. :)
Why wouldn't Ann/Anne make a comeback? I think it has as much chances as names like
Mary or
Margaret - they've already such a base of history behind them that you'll need something very extreme to get them out of use.
I live in Finland, and I know one person named
Anne.
Anna is much more popular here.
Btw, wouldn't
Anna make a great nickname to Ann/Anne? :D Lol lol lol lol
