I like it as Edward, but not as the nn Ed. That reminds me of fat, bald men.

I think Edward sounds regal, and almost trendy with the old fashioned boys names being used these days such as Henry and Harry.

Ed was just the most common one I threw out there. I'm thinking more along the lines of Ted, Teddy, or Ned.

I love Edward. It suits both the young and the old and Ed is a great nickname.
