[Opinions] WDYT of Janine?
Lately this name has really started to appeal to me. I know a lot of people will say it's dated but I don't think it's too far out of the loop to be used. It sounds so pretty to me.

It's dated to me, and not terribly attractive sounding. Not horrible by any means, just not terribly appealing to me.

I like it a lot. It sound very pretty. I love to see names brought back into fashion so the fact that it isn't a top ten name is a plus, to me.
I prefer the spelling Jeanine, but it's a minor quibble.

Just out of interest ...
What other spellings are there for Janine?
Thanks!

Janine, Jeanine, Jeannine, Janeane, and on and on. :-) It's one of those names that you can do a lot to with the spelling. Even if the pronunciation are supposed to be slightly different (like with Jeannine and Janine, I think) they usually come out the same when people say them here in the US, I find.
I also knew a Gennine. I thought it looked horrible but it did suit her.
There's also . . .
Joneen, Johneen and Jonene (also having a slightly different pronunciation).
:-)

It's not dated--I don't think it was used enough for that. It's a great name. Very pretty, very smart, and it comes with its own theme song. On David Bowie's Space Oddity album, he has a song called "Janine."
It's a name I've considered, too. Glad to see that it's not universally hated here. :D

Janine is very pretty IMO.
It's okay. I can't say I'm in love with it, but it doesn't sound that old fashioned to me.
