Caterina (as well as the Katerina spelling) is one of my all-time favorite names. I like Cristina too but something about Caterina gets to me. I find it spunky yet endlessly elegant, totally feminine yet strong at the same time. It's also more interesting than Cristina. Love the nn Cat too. I'm curious, what sort of nns does Caterina have in Italy?

Cate, Rina, possibly Caty and Trina. It's relatively common for older woman but not so much for under 30s, though it might be coming back into the cycle for babies born now.
