Edmund Steven, Rosalind Marie, Rachel Jean, James Samuel, and David Zachariah are five siblings from England. Edmund is fourteen, Rosalind is twelve, Rachel Jean is eleven, James is nine, and David is seven. Edmund has ADHD and a noticeable lisp. He attends speech therapy once a week. James and David also have ADHD. Their single mother, who was raising them, passed away two years ago. Their father is unknown and presumed dead. Rosalind is very smart, and she takes good care of her siblings. Rachel is nearly identical to her older sister, but she talks more and enjoys animals. James is very laid back. David enjoys being the baby of the family, and he is used to getting what he wants.

Carlos Elian and Isabel Luz are siblings from Venezuela. Carlos is ten and Isabel is six. Their mother died when Isabel was a few weeks old, and their father was recently arrested for heading up a large drug smuggling ring. The children are being put up for adoption, as they have no other living family members. Carlos is very smart, and he is a gifted musician who plays the harp, violin, and guitar very well. Isabel is fascinated by airplanes and helicopters as well as by anything that flies. Carlos speaks conversational English as well as Spanish. He interprets for Isabel, who has not yet learned English.
