Retro-chic for sure. I will forever associate
Gilda with Ms Radner. What a sweetheart she was. The Rita-Hayworth-as-vixen character never really made a dent in my brain one way or the other. So I have nothing but good thoughts when it comes to
Gilda.
I love
Beryl. I thought I was the only one. I was worried when I met a
Beryl from New
York (Bronx) who pronounced her name as "burl," one syllable. Huh? It rhymes with
Cheryl, right? Apparently not in the Bronx. But I still love the name
Beryl. I don't think anyone outside of New
York would pronounce it that way.
Gilda and
Beryl make a fantastic WWII era duo. Absolutely they can be sisters.
Gilda Marion and
Beryl Astrid, perhaps?
