I guess a little boy wouldn't mind that though. I don't really mind the train association myself but I thought I'd bring it up.
I have to say that I don't care for your combos. I really hate Dexter in general and Desmond doesn't flow very well for me. How about a shorter middle name?

I have an English cousin who was crazy about trains growing up. He had an elaborate set up running all around his room, even over his bed. He now works for British Rail. :-) So the Lionel / train thing is a plus in my book. (Hi, William!)

Hmm... I had thought of Lionel Quinn but thought it sounded a tad feminine. Thanks for your review

I think Quinn sounds good with Lionel. Making combos I found that a lot of short -n names fit well with it.
