So, husband mine, we have a baby girl! I must say, I couldn't help hoping we would have a girl first. She's absolutely beautiful, isn't she? Now we just have to name her! I know your family has a tradition for boys (which mine has the same one, isn't that funny?), but does it have one for girls? There aren't any in my family for girls, but I'd be happy to consider any your family has. Just a few preferences of mine: I tend to like old-fashioned or long names and to shy away from names that are in the top ten or fifteen in popularity. The only exception is the name
Lily, which I adore no matter what number it's at. It's my favorite girl's name and I've love to use it, even if it's a nickname for something more elaborate, like
Lilias or
Lilia. Some of my favorite names besides
Lily are:
AriannaMagdalenaVioletSamanthaIreneCallista (with
Callie for a nickname)
Rose and most variations (
Rosalind,
Rosaleen,
Rosa, etc)
JessamineMathilde (also would consider
Matilda)
BridgetAlexandra (not really a fan of many variations, like nicknames
Alex and
Sasha)
NoraSara
I could name a lot more, but let me know what you think!
