Julie-My problem is that it's not a name. It's like naming your kid Jack or Max or Frank. I much prefer Julia.
Robin-Simple, but I like it.
Carrie-Once again, I don't like it on its own.

Melissa-I've always liked Melissa. I couldn't picture it on a kid though, I picture a woman in her thirties.
Jessie-Same as Carrie and Julie. Jessica is much prettier.
James-Don't like James, but I love Jim.I pronounce all the Aaron and Erin names the same. I live in the US.

No, it's the French form of Julia and it's very much a name and a full name at that.
