[Opinions] Aristotle
In my job training, there was a guy named Aristotle. As a name nerd, my heart leaped a little! Yippie! There was also a Keturah and a Bolisa. Never heard of the name Bolisa. Then there were the boring Aubrey, Nick, Adam, Lindsay, Michelle, Christine, Josh, Megan...What do you think about the name Aristotle? Is it really a good name to use, or does it have too much teasing potential? I'm surprised a parent out there had the guts to use it.

I went to college with an Aristotle who was part Greek. He went by Aris. It's a cool name, albeit a bit long and serious sounding, which doesn't bother me. It just might be a bit of a heavy name to bear for someone who isn't Greek. He can always go by a nickname, though. There's also the option of using it as a middle name. Out of the others, I like Keturah. I also like Aubrey, Adam, Michelle, and Christine. I used to find Christine really boring, but now that its popularity has died down, it seems sweet and crisp to me. I also find it pretty to look at.

I like it. I think it's usable in real like. I like Ari as a nickname too.

I would be much more excited to meet a Michelle or a Christine or a male Aubrey. Only a few names feel pretentious to me, and Aristotle is definitely one of those few names. I doubt an Aristotle would be teased for his name, for I know at least with my generation that philosophers aren't nearly as well-known as the likes of pop stars and actors. I'd be far more concerned about the fact that he shared his name with an infamously misogynistic man who was convinced that women were incomplete or mutilated men. This quality was not rare among philosophers, but it would definitely keep me ten million kilometres away from this name.

Wow, I'm surprised they had the guts too, but I think it's awesome. :) I'm going to be a little weird and say that I think Aristotle is usable, if a bit pretentious. I mean he can always go by Ari.
