I thought about this name recently (it used to be a fave) and want to discuss it here. Do you think it's disrespectful to use? Many people have told me that, but wouldn't it rather be flattering if someone used the name of your tribe for his daughter or son? Just wondering. Also I've read that this name has been used by some Native Americans to honor their tribe even though it is not a traditional name that has been used for a long time. I just think it's a beautiful name but I wouldn't want to really upset a lot of people by using it because they think it was disrespectful to their culture.

Also what do you think of Cheyenne? Boy or girl? Are all the trendy spellings (Shyann etc) a problem? Do you know any? Is it too common? Do you think it's trashy?
