Nah, I know that it's sometimes hard for people whose languages don't have gendered nouns to see it that way. Likewise, it's hard for me to see for example
River as a male name, since the Croatian noun for it is female.
And just to clarify, the flower itself is
Neven.
Nevena and
Nevenka are feminine variations of a male name, not the actual flower name.
