Micah's already used for girls, I don't see why it wouldn't eventually become more popular for girls than boys.I would have assumed Micah was a girls name, the only male Micah I've never heard is a really awful local news anchorman named Micah Ohlman on LA's KABC. And honestly, it sounds like one of those names that someone made up, I know it's biblical, but it sounds made up.I'm just not a fan of soft or gentle sounding boys' names, anything that ends in an 'ah' sounds like a girls' name to me.

No. It's a boys' name through and through.

There. Are. So. Many. Gorgeous. Girls. Names. Understand!

Micah is not used where I live, so people would assume it was a girls' name based on the sound. But I still prefer it for a boy. I love gentle-sounding male names. On a girl, it's OK but blends in with all the other 2-syl girls' names ending in "ah" (of which there are loads)._____________________________________________________________________Elinor

My aunt's best friend!Well actualy I think her name was Michaelina but she was always called Micah and because of her I rather like it for a girl though I'd never use it! I like it more as a nickname than as a full name. :)Image hosting by Photobucket

Micah is a boy's name, and should stay that way in my opinion.

Try spelling it Meike...It's pronounced the same.Even Mica (like the mineral) would work better. Also pronounced Mike-aActually I think you could get away with Micah on a girl in certain crowds - people who weren't aware of the Biblical male name. It looks pretty femme to me because it's got that (archaic for male names, and trendy for them right now) -ah ending.- chazda

Why don't you...just make one post with a longer list of girls names you like? Then we could see them all out there at once and maybe make suggestions or comparisons between them in one go. And I don't care for Micah on either sex. It reminds me formica, or mica the mineral. I'd be tempted to call the kid Muscovite.

No, it's a Biblical male nameIf you want a masculine Biblical name that's also legitimately feminine, go for Noah or Eden. Or Gomer, if you want to get truly unusual.

*sigh*No. No. No. Micah is a boy's name. BOY'S name. There are soooooooo many pretty girls' names out there. Why do you want to steal a boy's name?Mika (MEE-kah) is a legit girl's name, and it's very nice IMO. Nika is too (NEE-kah).

This is one of my top boy's name and it's a great alternative for Michael. However, I think it's horrible for a boy. I would definitely stick with Meredith.Despite everything, I believe that people are really good at heart. - Anne Frank

I used to have a friend name Meika (me-ka). Micah does have a bit of a feminine sound, but I prefer the Meika sound even more.

No way.Micah is totally a boy name to me. Biblically, it's a boy name plus I've nown at least two Micahs that were male.

Try an actually feminine name, like Mila, Myra, or Myna. Micah sounds icky on a girl.Array

nooooooooooooooooooo! I love this name too much for a boy! Plus it has the 'Mike' sound and that's just so very masculine that even with the 'ah', it just doesn't fit for a girl.
