It makes more sense to spell it that way, no doubt about pronunciation. Deandra, Delia, Deanna, Denise, really any D name will work.

I agree on the spelling. De looks like the Spanish/ French preposition. It also works for any D name the way Elle works for an L name, Emme works for an M name, Kay works for a K name, and Jay works for a J name.
