[Opinions] Re: Andrea

I am pretty neutral to this name. It's fine; there's nothing that stands out about it as bad. It has a generally nice sound and isn't difficult to spell. That said, it is essentially identical to my own name (Charlotte) in its meaning, as both are feminine forms of names simply meaning "man," so they both essentially mean "woman." I was fascinated with name meanings as a child but always frustrated with the meaning (or lack their of) in my own name. I had siblings who's names meant "star," "fire," and "gift of God," but my name just meant "woman." I felt a little short-changed. It took me years to develop even a begrudging appreciation for my name. I'm not saying that's going to be the experience of everyone with a name like this; it was just my own experience.
