OK:
Otto has an air of low comedy about it and I've always thought of it as an excellent name for the kind of Old English Sheepdog that could be facing either way until it settles the argument by moving. (Its mate would of course be
Anna.) And it's better known as a ln where I live.
Paul is one of my favourite names for its classic simplicity and sheer staying power. I'm no fan of the saint, but in changing his name from
Saul to
Paul he did a very good job indeed. My BIL was almost
Paul rather than
Roy and I sometimes feel he was short-changed.
That said, I don't like
Pauline at all, or
Paulette or
Paula.
