[Opinions] Re: Horrid twin names
Where did you find these? It's hard for me to believe that Nacho and Chip really exist (at least as official birth certificate names). Actually I'd much prefer Leaf and Forest to Leif and Forest because the latter pair seems more like a joke than a serious devotion to nature on the parents' part.

about Chip...I have a great-uncle named Chip - and that IS the name on his birth certificate. Also, I have met guys named Nacho and it wasn't short for anything so I assume that's the name on their birth certificates. They may be odd names but ::shrugs:: people are odd.Thought you'd find that interesting :)

It wouldn't have surprised me to see Chip on a birth certificate itself, and I certainly knew that Nacho was a pet form of names like Ignacio and Anastasio in Spanish. But to see them as twins is a bit hard for me to believe without further evidence. :)

Ah, yes. I thought you meant in general and I was like... "well if people name their kids things like Log, I think Chip is believable..." but, yes, a twins it would be cruel.

My 6th grade Spanish teacher told us that Nacho is sometimes a nickname for Ignacio. One kid even picked it for his name when we had to pick Spanish names.----------------------------------------------------------------
Time to unload the gigantic lists of names running rampant in my head...

Yah, that happened in my 8th grade Spanish class... and 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th! All the boys just love the name Nacho... every year there were at least 10 guys wanting it and so various methods were used to see who got it lol It was always quite funny. Also popular, for some reason, amongst the white kids learning Spanish was the name Guillermo - I can only imagine it's because it's fun to say! But who knows what teenage boys think when it comes to these sorts of things :-) lol
