I think that no matter how gender neutral you would like to be, if you know your child is a female by the sex organs she is born with and is most likely to grow into a little girl and then a young an old woman- and you picture all of that as you look at that tiny baby and give it the best name possible- I don't understand how you look at that and think "Wolfgang it is!"
I am completely accepting of the gender spectrum and I'd support any child that I have who happens to be gender non-conforming or transgender- but the fact is that we don't expect that as the norm from our child. That's our own socialization and statistics.
So yes, when I look at a baby that I know and that I'm about to name, that baby looks like whatever sex it is.

I think your post pretty well sums it up. Wolfgang would be a pretty bold choice for a boy. It's just jarring on a girl.
