I've always liked its medieval flavor---Arthurian and all that. I knew an Elaine in high school who was nice but none too bright. As she's the only Elaine I've ever known, I do think of her when I hear the name, so in addition to medieval and Arthur and all that good stuff, there's a little bit of "bimbo" too.
