[Opinions] Re: Bo or Beau?
I don't like either of them.
Bo is probably fine on a Scandinavian or Chinese person, where it has a decent meaning, but in English it seems silly and meaningless, looks like B.O. and sounds like a frilly ribbon ornament, or something archers and string players use. Boudica is probably the least horrid option for an nn, but I think it should be short for Boandarro. Or Boselecta. Or Bodiddley.Beau is so oozily romantic that it just makes me cringe - & think of this old boy who I used to be in an art class with, who had a curly waxed moustache and always wore a cravat. (His name was not Beau, but it would have fitted) And it's just wrong on girls. Their parents should be forced to go back to school and do French again.
